Thank you for supporting Families Matter through Collaborate & Celebrate!

Our work at Families Matter would not be possible without the support of our community partners. Your continued support has assisted us in fulfilling our mission of strengthening families, changing lives, and transforming Memphis. Because of our partnership, Families Matter can serve families through education and advocacy throughout the Memphis and Shelby County areas.

On June 20, 2024Families Matter hosted our annual dinner, “Collaborate and Celebrate,” at Second Presbyterian Church. This year’s theme centered around our intentional effort to “Train up a child in the way he should go,” Proverbs 22:6. The event underscored our commitment to caring for, protecting, and loving children through educational and emotional intervention.

Our annual dinner is a time to come together and celebrate our accomplishments. Families Matter continues to make a profound impact on the hearts of young people, fostering real and lasting transformation in our community. This year, we highlighted several key initiatives:

  • Teaching the 12 Principles of Manhood: Our program for young boys focuses on instilling values that guide them towards becoming responsible and respectful men.
  • Supporting Young Fathers: We emphasize the importance of affection and support, helping young fathers understand their critical role in their children’s lives.
  • Promoting Healthy Relationships: We educate teenagers about what constitutes healthy relationships, equipping them with the knowledge to build strong, positive connections.
  • Encouraging Education and Employment: We assist young people in understanding the importance of education and securing gainful employment before becoming parents.

The success of these programs is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our community partners. Your unwavering support enables Families Matter to continue our vital work, making a tangible difference in the lives of families across Memphis and Shelby County.

As we reflect on the evening, we are filled with gratitude for the collaborative spirit that drives our mission forward. Together, we are creating a brighter future for our children and our community. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us.
