Prioritizing Men’s Health: AFIRM Supports Community Wellness Through Health Awareness
Posted June 4, 2026
Families Matter’s AFIRM (A Father’s Involvement Really Matters) Program recently joined community partners, healthcare professionals, and residents for a Men’s Community Health Fair focused on prostate cancer awareness, mental health, and overall wellness.
The event provided men with valuable opportunities to learn about preventive care, connect with health resources, and access important screenings that support early detection and healthier outcomes. Sports TV personality and prostate cancer survivor Jarvis Greer served as the event’s master of ceremonies, sharing his personal journey and helping highlight the importance of men taking an active role in their health.
At AFIRM, we believe that strong fathers help build strong families—and caring for one’s physical and mental health is an essential part of being present and engaged for loved ones. By participating in events like this, AFIRM continues to promote holistic well-being and ensure fathers have access to resources that support themselves, their families, and their communities.
Families Matter extends its appreciation to the organizers, community partners, and healthcare providers who made this important event possible and helped connect men with information, services, and resources that can make a lasting impact.
