November Message from Executive Director Carol Jackson
Posted November 26, 2024
At Families Matter, we promote healthy individuals, families, and marriages, where thankfulness is a sentiment and a foundation of our mission. Today, I want to reflect on my gratitude for serving this organization.
The opportunities we have been given have enabled Families Matter to expand its reach and impact. Our partnership with other organizations, churches, schools, and individuals gives us the innovation we need to build, sustain, and succeed in this community. Our opportunities allow us to continue and intensify our mission of Strengthening Families, Changing Lives, and Transforming Memphis. We do not work alone. Together, we have formed a robust network committed to the well-being of families in our communities. In many instances, our opportunities to work with others collaboratively have created life-long friendships. We know who to call when help is warranted.
The participants we serve are the heartbeat of Families Matter. We are entrusted with their stories, challenges, and desires. Without the courage and trust of these individuals, Families Matter would not exist in the way it does. We thank every participant for allowing us to journey with them to a different status in life. Their resilience, trust, and hope inspire us to offer the best assistance.
The staff of Families Matter is the secret sauce of our services. We embody the spirit of dedication, compassion, and professionalism. Their tireless efforts make it possible for Families Matter to grow, adapt, and meet the diverse needs of those we serve. I am incredibly grateful for their ability to go above and beyond, providing support not only in professional capacities but often as empathetic human beings who share in the joys and struggles of those we work with and serve. It is said that “People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Families Matter staff “CARE.”
Our donors are vital to sustaining and expanding Families Matter‘s work. I am grateful for every contribution that brings us closer to our vision of Memphis and Shelby County, where all families have the support and assistance needed for survival and sustainability.
Family means everything to me. So, to our families who support us in doing this work daily, thank you for your love and devotion and for allowing us to give much of ourselves to those we serve.
Deeply grateful,
Carol Jackson
