On behalf of Families Matter, I express our deepest gratitude for your support and commitment to our mission of Strengthening Families, Changing Lives, and Transforming Memphis. Families Matter‘s work is to build healthy relationships through education and empowerment.
Through your generous support, we accomplished so much together this year. We delivered the curriculum, The 12 Principles of Manhood, to 332 students in grades 5, 9, and 12, equipping them with critical life skills essential for personal growth and decision making. Additionally, our character-building and emotional growth initiatives reached 138 elementary school students, fostering resilience and positive development at a formative stage.
In Mid-South high schools, our career readiness and job interview role-playing interventions reached 65 students, helping prepare them for future job opportunities. Across all these efforts, Families Matter facilitated 532 encounters through our legacy programs, reaching students and families in ways that will last a lifetime.
One of our key highlights this year was the AFIRM (A Father’s Involvement Really Matters) program, which achieved its goal of enrolling over 700 participants. Today, we proudly report that in addition to the 159 participants already employed when entering the program, an additional 187 participants received employment after enrolling. These numbers represent employment, meaningful connections, opportunities, stability, and hope for their children’s future. Two hundred seventeen fathers took advantage of the co-parenting training, and 70 signed a co-parenting agreement with their children’s mothers.
Your support has been vital to these successes. With your help, we are building pathways towards brighter futures for families and children, one program and encounter at a time. Thank you for believing in this mission and enabling change through your generous partnership.
During this Christmas season, you can play a pivotal role in supporting our healthy family initiatives. Please consider donating to Families Matter to support programs like 12 Principles of Manhood, Dynamic Dads, and Connections. These programs are making a tremendous difference in the lives of youth in schools and with collaborative partners.
Thank you for any donation. Your gift enables this work, and we are eternally grateful for it.
Merry Christmas,
Carol A. Jackson
