A Season of Renewal and Growth

Posted April 7, 2026

As we move from the energy of March into April’s renewal, this season offers a meaningful chance to reflect, celebrate, and refocus on what matters most – community, health, and growth.

We celebrated our 30th graduation for the AFIRM (A Father’s Involvement Really Matters) program in March. This was the largest graduating class, with over 38 fathers receiving their Graduation Certificates and celebrating milestones of achievement.

As March happily ended with sunshine and no rain on its last day, it signaled the arrival of spring. What I noticed most were leaves budding on trees, gardeners preparing their flower beds, and the steady flow of pollen as spring arrives. The calendar marks the official start of spring, but at my house, it’s the scratchy throat and allergy symptoms that tell me spring is here.

April symbolizes a fresh start. With trees bursting into bloom and the holy season of Easter here, it’s often seen as a time of renewal, hope, and new beginnings. April encourages us to reset, recharge, and look forward with optimism.

Optimism for Families Matter involves strengthening our partner relationships. We collaborate closely with the Greater Memphis Chamber to promote educational initiatives that help boys and men make career choices. This partnership benefits our clients by helping them understand the details of their work as they continue to build strong ties with their families.

We were honored to share Families Matter with Aaron Patrick Architect Firm. The firm’s director of Culture and Community Engagement invited us to collaborate on how building strong families aligns with shaping the spaces we live in. When these elements come together, something powerful happens, and communities are transformed. We are excited to participate in this incredible effort where spaces are designed to foster family togetherness.

Thank you, Aaron Patrick Architect, for your support of Families Matter.

This season of growth has brought us to a partnership with Catholic Charities of Memphis. Recognizing our shared commitment to training, mentoring, and supporting Catholic Charities’ educational initiatives, we are eager to create, develop, and promote healthy, strong Tennessee families. We are stronger together, and HOPE WINS!

As we start this new month, we do so with renewed purpose and optimism. Thank you for taking part in this journey. Your support truly makes a difference.

All of this is possible as we keep building relationships that support Families Matter‘s mission of Strengthening Families, Changing Lives, and Transforming Memphis.

We pray your Easter Sunday was filled with love, joy, and peace, reminding us of the reason for our Savior’s death, burial, and resurrection.

With gratitude and hope,

Carol A. Jackson, Executive Director
