A Night of Celebration and Hope for Memphis

Posted October 31, 2025

Families Matter’s annual Collaborate & Celebrate Dinner Gala brought together more than 200 supporters on October 9 at Second Presbyterian Church for an evening filled with purpose, inspiration, and community connection.

Guests enjoyed a meaningful program that showcased the impact of Families Matter’s work in Memphis and Shelby County. The event featured heartfelt performances, words of encouragement from community partners, and powerful stories shared by participants in the A Father’s Involvement Really Matters (AFIRM) program.

The highlight of the evening came as fathers participating in AFIRM shared personal testimonies of transformation—stories of strengthened relationships with their children, renewed confidence, and restored hope for their families. Their experiences reflected Families Matter’s mission to strengthen families, change lives, and transform Memphis.

The evening also celebrated the importance of collaboration, featuring partners such as Gestalt Community Schools and the Memphis & Shelby County Juvenile Court, who work alongside Families Matter to help families thrive.

From start to finish, the 2025 gala was a powerful reminder that when families are supported, entire communities are strengthened.

Verse of the Day

The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.
