Women of Character

Posted January 6, 2020

“People of character do the right thing, not because they think it will change the world but because they refuse to be changed by the world.” This statement made by radio commentator Michael Josephson, speaks volumes to me. When I was a child my mom regularly told me, “Talent will take you where character will not keep you.” Both mom’s and Mr. Josephson’s statements support each other. Amazed by that fact? Absolutely not! Truth is truth!

Today I make similar statements to my children hoping and praying they will be impacted as greatly as I was by my mom’s wise instruction. More importantly, I have noticed that my children observe what I do more than they pay attention to what I say. I want my life (words, actions, deeds) to be a testimony to my character. Am I perfect? No! Does character matter to me? Yes – my Character Matters. Being who I want my children to believe I am is paramount. Being a woman of character matters to me because not only does my Family Matter, all Families Matter.

Women, let’s become whom God created us to be with a solid steadfastness to being a “Woman of Character.” Together we can make a positive difference in our families’ lives.
